Setting Up Expiry Reminders
FlowForth can alert you before a permit expires, giving you time to arrange a renewal. Each permit has its own configurable reminder window.
Only administrators receive permit expiry reminders.
How Reminders Work
When you create or edit a permit, you set the Reminder Days Before value. This is the number of days before the expiration date that FlowForth will trigger an alert.
Example: If a permit expires on March 30 and you set the reminder to 14 days, the alert will appear on or after March 16.
When Reminders Appear
Reminders are checked when an admin visits the dashboard. If a permit is within its reminder window and hasn't already been triggered:
- An alert appears on the admin dashboard.
- The permit is marked as having its reminder triggered, so you won't see duplicate alerts.
Configuring a Reminder
- Navigate to the Permits page.
- Create a new permit or edit an existing one.
- Set the Reminder Days Before field to the number of days you want to be notified in advance.
- Click Save.
Choose a reminder window that gives you enough time to act. For permits that take weeks to renew, use a larger value (e.g., 30–60 days). For simple renewals, a shorter window (e.g., 7–14 days) may suffice.
Dashboard Widget
The admin dashboard includes a permit expiry alert widget that shows:
- Permits that are currently within their reminder window.
- A link to each permit for quick action.
After Renewing
When you renew a permit with a new expiration date, the reminder is automatically reset. You'll be notified again when the new expiration date approaches.
