Adding a Location

This guide walks you through creating a new location for a client in FlowForth.

Before You Begin

You need the Organization Admin role to create locations. Locations are always created under an existing client, so make sure the client has been added first.

Step-by-Step

  1. Navigate to the Clients page and click on the client you want to add a location to.
  2. Scroll down to the Locations section on the client detail page.
  3. Click the Add Location button.
  4. A form will appear with the following fields.

Location Details

  • Location Name (required) — A descriptive name for this location (e.g., "Main Office", "Warehouse B").
  • Street Address (required) — The street name and number.
  • Address Line 2 — Building, floor, apartment, or additional address info.
  • Postal Code — The postal or ZIP code.
  • City — The city name.
  • Country — Select from the dropdown list of supported countries.

  • Contact Phone — Phone number for the on-site contact.

Additional Information

  • Google Maps Link — An optional URL linking to this location on Google Maps.
  • Notes — Free-text notes about this location, visible only to your team.
  1. Click Create Location to save.

The new location will appear in the client's locations list immediately.

Address Validation

After entering the address, you can click Validate Address to check whether the address can be found. If successful, FlowForth will:

  • Store the geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) for the location.
  • Display a map preview showing the location on a map.

This step is optional but recommended — coordinates are used for map visualization and route planning.

See Using the Address Validation Map for more details on how address validation works.

What's Next?

After creating a location, you'll typically want to:

  • Create activities — Schedule work at this location by creating activities. See Activities Overview.
  • Validate the address — Use the Address Validation Map to verify the location's address and coordinates.
  • Add more locations — If the client has multiple sites, repeat the process to add additional locations.
tip

If you have many locations to add, consider using the bulk import feature to create them from a CSV file.
