Client Tags

Client tags allow you to assign tags at the client level that automatically propagate to all activities belonging to that client. This is useful when you want to consistently label all work for a particular client without manually tagging each activity.

How Client Tags Work

When you assign a tag to a client, FlowForth automatically applies that tag to:

  • All existing activities across all of the client's locations
  • All new activities created at any of the client's locations going forward

Client tags behave like auto tags — they appear on activities but cannot be removed from the activity directly. They can only be managed from the client.

When you modify a client's tag list (adding or removing tags), all related activities are updated to reflect the changes.

Assigning Tags to a Client

  1. Navigate to Clients and open the client you want to tag.
  2. In the Tags section, click Edit.
  3. Use the tag selector to add or remove tags.
  4. Click Save Changes.

All activities across the client's locations will be updated with the new tags.

Viewing Client Tags on Activities

Client tags appear on activities alongside other tags, but with a few differences:

  • They are displayed as auto tags (non-removable) in the tag selector.
  • They are shown in a separate Client Tags section in the tag dropdown.
  • Each client tag shows a source label (e.g., "From client: ClientName") so you can identify where the tag originated.

You cannot remove a client tag from an individual activity. To remove it, update the client's tag list instead.

Tag Coexistence

Client tags coexist with other tag types on activities:

Tag TypeSourceRemovable from Activity?
Manual TagsAdded directly to the activityYes
Location Auto TagsApplied by tag rules based on location addressNo
Client TagsInherited from the clientNo

All tag types can be used together for filtering in the Activity Planner.

Who Can Manage Client Tags?

Client tag management requires the Organization Admin role. Only admins can add or remove tags from clients.
