Viewing & Editing Client Details
The client detail page gives you a complete view of a client's information, with the ability to edit all fields in place.
Accessing the Detail Page
From the Clients list page, click on a client's name to open their detail page.
At the top of the page, you'll see a ← Back to Clients link to return to the list.
Page Sections
Client Overview
The overview section displays:
- External Client ID — Your own reference number for this client (displayed in monospace font).
- Contact Name — The primary contact person.
- Contact Email — The contact's email address.
- Contact Phone — The contact's phone number.
- Internal Notes — Notes visible only to your team.

Business Address
Shows the client's full address, including street address, address line 2, postal code, city, and country.
E-Invoicing
This section shows:
- VAT Number — With a Verify VAT button that checks the number against the EU VIES system. A valid number will display a green checkmark along with the registered company name and address.
- PEPPOL ID — With a Verify PEPPOL button that checks whether the address is registered on the PEPPOL network.

VAT Defaults
- Apply VAT by Default — Shown as a Yes/No badge. When enabled, new invoices for this client will automatically include VAT.
- Default VAT Percentage — The default VAT rate applied to invoices for this client.
Locations
A list of all locations belonging to this client. You can navigate to any location from here.
Notification Preferences
If your organization has the Notifications integration active, this section shows the client's WhatsApp notification settings. See Client Notification Preferences for details.
Editing a Client
- Click the Edit button in the top-right corner of the client section.
- All fields become editable.
- Make your changes.
- Click Save Changes to apply.
The page will return to read mode with your updated information displayed.
Validation
While editing, FlowForth validates your input:
- VAT Number — If provided, must match the expected format for the selected country. A format hint is displayed below the field.
- Contact Email — Must be a valid email format.
- Contact Phone — Should use E.164 international format (e.g.,
+31612345678) if you plan to use it for WhatsApp.
The External Client ID field is useful when you use FlowForth alongside another system and need to cross-reference clients.
