Assigning Activities to Routes
This guide explains how to assign activities to routes using drag-and-drop on the Route Planner page.
Before You Begin
You need the Organization Admin role to assign activities. You should have at least one route created for the date you're planning.
Drag-and-Drop Assignment
The Route Planner uses drag-and-drop to assign activities to routes:
- Navigate to the Route Planner page.
- Select the date you want to plan.
- Find the activity you want to assign in the Unassigned Activities panel on the right.
- Click and drag the activity card into a route card on the left.
- Drop the activity into the desired position within the route.
Dragging an activity from unassigned panel into a route card
When you drop an activity into a route, FlowForth automatically:
- Adds the activity to the route at the position you chose
- Calculates travel time and distance from the previous activity
- Updates the route's total travel time and total distance
You can also drag activities between routes to move them from one route to another. The activity will be removed from the original route and added to the new one.
Reordering Activities Within a Route
To change the sequence of activities within a route:
- Click and drag an activity within the route card.
- Move it to the desired position in the list.
- Drop the activity to confirm the new order.
FlowForth recalculates travel times between all activities when the order changes.
Removing Activities from a Route
To remove an activity from a route and return it to the unassigned pool:
- Drag the activity out of the route card and drop it in the unassigned area.
Alternatively, you can use the Clear from Routes bulk operation in the Activity Planner.
Travel Time Information
After assigning activities to a route, each activity in the route displays:
- Travel time from the previous activity (in minutes)
- Travel distance from the previous activity (in kilometers)
The route card header shows the total travel time and total distance for the entire route.
Travel times are calculated using real road data, so they reflect actual driving conditions. If an activity's location doesn't have valid coordinates, travel time cannot be calculated.
