Assigning Users to Routes
This guide explains how to assign team members to routes so they know which activities to work on each day.
Before You Begin
You need the Organization Admin role to assign users to routes. The team members you want to assign must be active members of your organization. See User Management for details on managing team members.
Assigning Users
- Navigate to the Route Planner page.
- Find the route you want to assign team members to.
- Click Edit on the route card.
- In the assignment dialog, select one or more team members from the list.
- Click Save to confirm the assignment.

When you assign the first team member to a route, the route status automatically changes from Draft to Assigned.
Multiple Users per Route
A route can have more than one team member assigned. This is useful when:
- Two or more employees are working together on the same set of activities
- A team shares responsibility for a group of locations
All assigned users will see the route and its activities in their personal view.
Removing Users from a Route
To remove a team member from a route:
- Click Edit on the route card.
- Deselect the team member you want to remove.
- Click Save to confirm.
If you remove all team members from a route, the route status returns to Draft.
How Assigned Users See Their Routes
Team members who are assigned to routes can view their daily workload:
- The Dashboard shows activities for routes assigned to them
- Activities appear in the order they are sequenced on the route
- Team members can update the status of their assigned activities (e.g., marking them as In Progress or Completed)
Automatic User Assignment
If you use route templates, you can pre-configure which team members are automatically assigned when routes are generated. This eliminates the need to manually assign users each day.
