Creating a Route
This guide walks you through creating a new route in FlowForth.
Before You Begin
You need the Organization Admin role to create routes. You should also have activities scheduled for the date you want to plan.
Step-by-Step
- Navigate to the Route Planner page from the main navigation menu.
- Use the date navigation controls to select the date you want to create a route for.
- Click the Create Route button.
- Enter the following details:
Route Information
- Name (required) — A short name for the route (e.g., "North District", "Morning Run").
- Date — The date is set automatically based on the currently selected date in the planner.
Create route dialog
- Click Create to save the new route.
The route is created in Draft status with no activities or team members assigned. You can now:
- Assign activities by dragging them into the route
- Assign team members to work the route
Creating Routes from the Activity Planner
You can also create a route directly from the Activity Planner:
- Select the activities you want to include in the route.
- Click Create Route in the bulk action toolbar.
- Choose the route settings and assign team members.
- Confirm the operation.
This creates the route and assigns the selected activities in one step.
Automatic Route Creation
If you have route templates configured, FlowForth can automatically create routes based on activity tags. This saves time when you have a predictable daily routing pattern.
What's Next?
After creating a route, you'll typically want to:
- Add activities — Drag unassigned activities into the route. See Assigning Activities to Routes.
- Assign team members — Assign employees to work the route. See Assigning Users to Routes.
- View on the map — Visualize the route on a map. See Using the Activity Map.
